The painting, titled "Sunglint Violet", marks a continuation of the series that investigates using visual information from actual places. The detailed observation required to capture the fleeting effects of sunlight reflecting off the water's surface, followed by translating those observations into layers of paint, intensifies my understanding and relationship with these ephemeral moments in nature.
Engaging with the physical properties and potential of the paint itself, the artwork transcends mere representation of the sunglint phenomenon, becoming a tangible entity with its own unique textures and colors.
These moments of sunlight dancing on the water's surface exemplify a specific and alluring beauty that captivates me as an artist. By immersing myself in the study of these transient light effects, I discover the inherent qualities of the phenomenon as an experience. This series represents my ongoing exploration of how detailed observation and artistic interpretation, with a focus on the intrinsic properties of the medium, can transform our perception of fleeting natural occurrences.
