The tall grass prairie exemplifies a specific and alluring beauty that captivates me as an artist. By immersing myself in the study of these intricate natural patterns, I discover the inherent qualities of the landscape as an experience. This series represents my ongoing exploration of how detailed observation and artistic interpretation, with a focus on the intrinsic properties of the medium, can transform our perception of these expansive, untamed environments.
As I engage with the tall grass prairie through the act of painting, I am fully present in the moment, absorbing the essence of the landscape and translating it into a visual language. The resulting artwork becomes a testament to the existential nature of our connection with the natural world, as the prairie is experienced and interpreted.
